Wolne Miasto for children
Caring for the youngest residents of the Wolne Miasto
Taking into account the needs of children, we tried to create a safe, acceptable for adults space, which would also stimulate imagination and creativity of the youngest residents of the Wolne Miasto - Free City.
Area
In regard of imagination, the natural terrain leaves a huge range of possibilities - the environment looks like a great garden with an old orchard, meadows and gentle hills. Such a vast space encourages the active leisure, and provides space for team games for whole families. The landscape, changing with seasons, is sure to become an inexhaustible inspiration for a child's imagination. For this reason, we have tried to interfere as little as possible in the natural wildlife surrounding the town. Sledding hill, trees on which you can climb, a blanket which can be spread among fragrant herbs, it's an unusual opportunity for the children living in the city.
Attractions
The attractiveness of Wolne Miasto estate does not lie solely in the greenery around the buildings. It also comes from well-designed playgrounds, fountain, ponds, and walking paths amongst the preserved vegetation. All this with the aim of encouraging children to play close to nature.
When designing the Wolne Miasto estate, we also thought about children’s educational needs: there is a kindergarten, Srebrna Kotwica.
"Amber Compass" Kindergarten
Since October the 1st in 2013 parents can entrust the care of their children to "Silver Anchor" kindergarten, which is located on the outskirts of the Wolne Miasto settlement in Gdańsk.
The kindergarten was created as part of the “New Familial Preschoolers” project co-funded by the European Union from the European Social Fund, in cooperation with the Gdańsk branch of the Familijny Poznań Foundation, a leader in the management of pre-school facilities.
Preschoolers learn English, they may also take part in activities at speech therapy, art, music, technology, sports and theater. They also participate in games, activities and outdoor events or celebrations events. In addition, children can count on the continued psycho-pedagogical care.
It all makes "Silver Anchor" develop skills and interests, helping fully exploit the potential and capabilities of the child. At the same time it provides the necessary dose of relaxation, recreation and contact with their peers, that each preschooler needs.
Kindergarten is a perfect complement to Wolne Miasto as an autonomous and self-sufficient settlement. It allows working parents to leave their children in a safe place that meets their expectations, yet is located just next to the house.
